This was an actual restaurant in Spokane back in the early 20th century, and was torn down in 1949. Apparently their chili was to die for, and they served free meals to the poor at Christmas. The menu consisted of vegetable soup, chili, crackers, coffee, milk, candy, nuts, cigars, and a big red apple, with no limit to the amount of food one could eat. I normally will never use anything but my own resource material for my artwork, but when I ran across an old historical photo of this place, I could not help myself. The same can be said for the 1937 Ford in front. Just one of those things, I guess.
